A few days ago, a friend gave me a pineapple.
Pineapple is neither something I like nor dislike, and if it is available and my body is craving it at the time, I will reach for it and eat it. Even if my family or those around me are eating it, if I don't feel like eating it at the time, I won't touch it.
However, I always like pineapple on my pizza, and if it doesn't, I'll put it on even if the people I'm eating with don't like it (it's mandatory!).
If you don't want to eat it, just put a pineapple on top of my slice, so it's a must-have for pizza.
And it goes well with sweet and sour pork too!
I love warm pineapple and having fruit in meals.
By the way, canned pineapple is one of my favorite foods.
I digressed too much lol
I was given a pineapple, and while I was struggling with the tough skin to eat it, even though I got a little injured, I suddenly remembered that there was a fabric made from pineapple leaves and a leather-like fabric that I thought was interesting when I was a salaryman, probably because of the recent Sustainable Focus Week. So I did a quick Google search.
It was developed by a London-based company (from what I could find) and is made from pineapple leaves, an agricultural waste product. The process uses an innovative dry spinning process that does not require water or harmful chemicals, extracting natural fibres from discarded pineapple leaves and then combining them with other plant-based fibres.
Chanel has designed and released hats using this fabric, and Nike has used it in shoes...
I didn't know that high fashion houses and sports brands were making, producing and selling products made from fabric made from pineapple leaves.
In fact, when silk is being made into thread, waste is produced.
My partner (Azusa) told me about it.
When my friend visited a silk factory, he saw the waste and thought, "What a waste. I wonder if I can turn it into something." Since then, he has been thinking of various ways to use it.
Even when I'm not watching, she is a proud partner with a high sense of sustainability.
I'm not very good at science, so I don't have any idea for it, so I can't really contribute to it, but I keep my antennae up every day, sniffing around for ideas that could turn those silk scraps into wonderful items.
Silk is the best! Love Silk
