Silk as wallpaper…?!?!?

The ar* POPUP STORE is open in Yokohama until April 28th !

Please stop by if you are in the area.
In front of Krispy Kreme doughnuts!

I've been recommending Mother's Day for five days in a row, so it's time for a short break.
Today I'd like to talk about something that has been on my mind the most recently.

One of the great things about running a pop-up store is the information I can get by talking to customers.

A person who came to the store after seeing the word "Silk " said that they were interested in the product, and it turns out that they sell silk interior items. I thought they were selling silk cushion covers or pillow covers, but...

Silk wallpaper...!!!

I had never heard of silk wallpaper, so I thought there must be people who enjoy luxury up there.

It's not just luxurious, but also takes advantage of silk's deodorizing and bacteriostatic properties.

It is said to be used in hotel suites and VIP rooms in hospitals and nursing homes.

Apparently there is a bar in Tokyo that actually uses silk wallpaper, and I've heard that the interior has absolutely no smell, the air is different from that of an ordinary restaurant, and feels really comfortable, so I'm really intrigued...!!

I don't really believe in things I can't see, and I always start off by being skeptical, but what is silk wallpaper? It makes me curious!
Although we know from experiments that it has deodorizing and bacteriostatic effects , I wondered whether it was really true that it feels so good.

I had actually heard that in the old days, feudal lords would sometimes fan themselves with silk because it made them feel calm, but I was completely skeptical (although I don't know if it's true or not).
Maybe it's something close to that...?

Silk has a long history, and as such is complex and shrouded in mystery.

However, its deodorizing and bacteriostatic effects have been proven, so I think it makes sense to use it as wallpaper. Since it is expensive, it seems that sometimes silk wallpaper is used on one side of a wall, rather than on the entire wall.

Even if that is just one aspect, it is a luxury that is quite enviable.

If you want to experience the deodorizing and antibacterial effects of silk, start with the ar* items you already have around you!
This coming
summer, you can wear silk without having to worry about sweat odor.
