Eat seasonal vegetables and get through the summer!

It's getting hotter every day, aren't you exhausted? Everyone, are you okay?
The other day, the mango seedlings I was growing from seeds had withered due to the extreme heat. How sad.

However, this summer I feel like I'm eating more vegetables than usual!
Summer is the season when many delicious vegetables are in season, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, and peppers.
I love all of them, and eating them in the hot season cools me down and helps me recover from the heat. I've also been getting a lot of bitter melon from my relatives' fields this year, so I've been eating them more than usual.

In the summer, we drink a lot to avoid heatstroke, so we recommend eating potassium-rich cucumbers to prevent swelling!
I don't think anyone puts cucumber slices on their eyes anymore, but that was to prevent swelling...lol

Tomatoes also have the effect of cooling the body, making them a vegetable that is perfect to eat this summer.
I saw on Instagram that the pith of bitter melon, which we normally remove, is actually good for your health if you cook it and eat it.

There are days when it's so hot you lose your appetite, but you can still get through it by eating seasonal foods and building up your strength!!

Tomorrow will be the last day of the Yokohama Takashimaya Pop-up Store.
If you have time, please drop by!
