Pop-up store currently open in Kamakura!
We have silk products on display in front of the Gofuku store along Wakamiya-oji Street. We sell silk products because of the connection to silk used in kimonos, but we also receive many inquiries from customers asking "Where is our store located?" in Kamakura, so we refer them to our online store.
As soon as we are able to set up shop, we will announce it on our website ...!
Speaking of Kamakura, where we are currently holding a pop-up, the hydrangeas at Hasedera Temple are famous... Hydrangea soft serve ice cream is also sold nearby, and many tourists come to enjoy the colorful soft serve ice cream in hand.
Hydrangeas, rainy season...now that I think about it, I'm reminded that the humid rainy season is coming up.
Silk is useful even during the humid rainy season!
The reason for this is silk's fine fibers.
One third of the thin silk fibers are air spaces. This air space quickly absorbs sweat from the skin and dries it. Silk is said to be 1.3 to 1.5 times more absorbent than cotton, and has quick moisture release properties, allowing you to stay dry and comfortable without getting stuffy.
So, silk is comfortable all year round, but it is also useful during the humid rainy season.
Because it is a thin fiber, it takes in air and blends with body heat, so it keeps you warm in the winter, and for the reasons mentioned above, it keeps you cool and comfortable in the summer.
Silk also has the ability to inhibit the growth of germs, which helps to reduce the unpleasant odor caused by sweat.
The more you come into contact with silk, the more benefits it will bring.
The inside of shoes is said to be the most sweaty place... If you wear silk socks, they'll be very comfortable...!
The rainy season in Japan is particularly humid and damp.
Try incorporating silk items into your wardrobe and get yourself a wearable dehumidifier!
Please stop by if you are in Kamakura.
