Without even thinking about it, we can tell this is the culprit!

I am R, a director and chairman of the Silk Mania Association.

It's hot... I expect to use this word a lot over the next two months, but I hope you'll bear with me.

We often hear people describe Japan's deadly "summer" as a violent term, but yesterday I truly felt that it may not be such a lie after all .

It's been just over two years since ar* was conceived and just under two years since it began selling, so to be honest, my closet is still full of clothes made from synthetic fibers other than silk.

When I was working in the fashion industry, I bought clothes based on their appearance, without paying attention to the material or quality labeling.

So, before I knew it, most of my closets were made of synthetic fibers. Even 100% cotton, which should be all over the place, is hard to find in my closet.

Yesterday, I picked out a black maxi-length skirt that I liked the feel of.

(I checked later and found that the outer material was 100% polyester and the lining was 100% polyester. Yes, that’s right! This skirt was made of synthetic fibers.

What's more, it is carefully made into two pieces!

Due to its excellent properties as a synthetic fiber, it is said that nearly half of the clothing fibers currently produced are polyester. I know I'm being a bit scary, but the raw material for polyester is the same chemical substance called polyethylene terephthalate as that used for plastic bottles (PET).

This material is melted at high temperatures and spun into long fibers to create polyester.

Yesterday was a summer day when I couldn't see how damn hot it was outside while I was inside the house, so I chose to wear black clothes and later regretted it.

The top is black, but I chose ar*'s standard silk rib top , and I was satisfied with the styling. When I went out in high spirits... The heat reflected from the asphalt filled the skirt, and it was so hot!

This caused me to sweat profusely, and after a while I started to feel dizzy, developed a slight persistent headache, and just felt fatigued... "Hmm, maybe I didn't get enough sleep? I feel like I want to sit down..." I thought, and went into a cafe in the station building that I didn't really want to go into to take a break.

I calmed down a bit, and all I could think was, "Oh, my body still isn't used to this heat," and left the store and went outside again.

I was sweating like crazy again, and had a headache from dizziness. Even after drinking water, my condition didn't improve... I was in a daze until I got home.

When I got home, I turned on the air conditioner, collapsed onto the sofa, and while lying down I googled the symptoms on my smartphone.

It was heat stroke.

Well, my symptoms are still in the early stages, but I was close to dying from polyester.

I was thinking that being in a sauna for such a long time must be dangerous, but my curiosity was piqued and I wondered "Come to think of it, what are sauna suits made of?", and when I looked it up, I was right! Most sauna suits are made of polyester!

It doesn't absorb sweat, it doesn't let air in, it's sealed up and it promotes sweating.

It's excellent for a sauna suit! = There's no doubt that it's the right material!

Of course, it's my fault for choosing a polyester synthetic fiber on a hot summer day when I had lots of things to do outside, covering half of my body, and wearing a maxi skirt that was long enough to reach the asphalt (my lower half was steamed with mugwort all day), but everyone, please be careful.

In this way, you may encounter unexpected and unwanted danger.

Extreme heat and polyester (and other synthetic fibers) do not go together!

It was an unwitting act of carelessness worse than suicide.

I was almost defeated by polyester.

The culprit was clearly polyester synthetic fiber.

What would have happened if the pants were made of polyester?!

It could have been much more painful.

Just thinking about it scares me.

I was looking for a silk skirt and bought it right away.

(ar* focused on pants and dresses this year)

On that scorching hot day, I vowed to myself that next year I would definitely make a silk skirt, or a silk and cotton blend skirt, using ar*!

Silk is the best! Love Silk
