There is no such thing as silk that can't be washed!
I'm sure Silk Mania members already know this, but the image of silk being difficult to handle is so prevalent that it's a problem.
They call it washable silk, but honestly there is no such thing as silk that can't be washed...
Silk is certainly delicate, but time has passed and washing machines have become so advanced that you can dispel any negative impressions you may have!
Sometimes people ask me if socks can be washed, and the answer is yes, even silk socks! Of course, they will last longer if you hand wash them, but that goes for cotton and synthetic socks too.
It is true that silk is a weaker fiber than other materials, but that doesn't mean it's so weak that you can't put it in a washing machine.
Silk innerwear can also be washed in a washing machine by placing it in a laundry net. We recommend using the delicates cycle.
That's because regular detergents are so focused on cleaning power that they have extremely strong cleaning power. But don't you think that because the cleaning power is too strong, it can easily cause colors to fade or be too harsh on fabrics?
While it may be OK for synthetic fibers, I think detergents with strong cleaning power are too strong for silk, a natural fiber made from proteins that are said to be similar to human skin and hair.
For this reason, we recommend hand washing, delicates washing, and using a gentle, weak water setting.
